Established in 1991, Opus Film is one of Poland’s leading production companies, producing world-class feature films, commercials and television programs. In 2015, the studio won the Oscar® for the Best Foreign Language Film.

Piotr Dzieciol, the founder of Opus Film, is a graduate of the University of Wroclaw and the Polish National Film School in Lodz. An experienced film and television producer of morethan 30 features and TV series, he serves as the chairman of the board of the FPCA and a member of the board of the Polish Film Institute and the Polish Audiovisual Producers Chamber of Commerce (KIPA). In 2004, he became a fellow of the European Film Academy. Recent films he produced and co-produced include: „Ida” directed by Pawel Pawlikowski, „The Congress” directed by Ari Folman, „Courage” directed by Greg Zglinski; „Wonderful Summer” directed by Ryszard Brylski and „Zero” directed by Pawel Borowski.

In 2002, our studio realized its first feature film, Edi directed by Piotr Trzaskalski, which garnered international awards and attention. Since 2002, Opus Film completed over 20 feature films including:

Opus Film has completed over 10 international co-productions, the latest being Ari Folman’s The Congress/Kongres (2013) and The Cut (2014) dir. Fatih Akin. In 2012, Opus Film completed Paradoks/Paradox by Greg Zglinski and Borys Lankosz. The crime  series was shown on TVP2, Poland’s national television network. In 2014, the studio completed Zbrodnia/The Crime, a three-episode mini-series produced for AXN Central Europe and based on the Swedish format Morden and Sandhamn. The Crime reunited writer Igor Brejdygant and directed by Greg Zglinski.

Opus Film’s portfolio includes over 1400 commercials for customers from various industries: FMCG, telecom, motor, pharmaceutical, bank, brewing and many others. The company is one of the biggest advertisement production companies in Poland, producing over 40 commercials a year. Spots are realized both in Poland and abroad. Having
long-standing relationships with major advertising agencies on the Polish market, our production company provides comprehensive film shooting services from selecting film directors, project development, shooting, to post-production. Thanks to our experienced staff and our access to world class professional equipment, we are able to produce several projects simultaneously. Opus Film also provides film production services for producers and
production companies from around the globe.

Opus Film’s advantages include own sound stages in Łódź that cover 800 m2 and are equipped with lighting catwalks, winches, artificial horizon and full back-up facilities: make-up rooms, wardrobes, storages, costumes, props and set building workshops and editing and sound studios. The potential of the place was for example utilized during the production of Greg Zgliński’s series “The Pradox” David Lynch’s “Inland Empire”, Schroeder’s “Wonderful World” (dir. Michael Schorr) and many advertising projects.

  • „Ida” by Paweł Pawlikowski
    On February 22nd, 2015, Ida directed by Pawel Pawlikowski and produced by Opus Film, garnered the most prestigious film prize in the world: An Oscar. It is the first Polish film to win in the foreign film category. 2013 and 2014 were also exciting.

    In December 2013 in Berlin at the European Film Awards gala, „The Congress” directed by Ari Folman and co-produced by Opus Film, won the Best Animated Feature Film award.
