Polish Audiovisual Centre Foundation (FPCA) was established by Polish Audiovisual Producers Chamber of Commerce’s board in December 2005. The main cause of creation FPCA and the crucial role for this Foundation was to run Polish Media Desk Office (Media Desk). However, just from the beginning the founder has planned to turn FPCA into a real tool for constant developing and fortify independent production and Polish cinematography.
To accomplish all objectives FPCA has activated two Programmes (“Improvement of professional skills“ and “Promotion of Polish film abroad”) in June 2007. These Programmes are devoted to help all kind of representatives from audiovisual professions participate in broad range of e.g. European workshops and trainings , throw the promotion event of Polish films at the international festivals and conferences around the world. FPCA has taken action in preparing basic guidelines for creation “City of film” in Poland. This undertaken was inspired by Polish Filmmakers Association. Polish Audiovisual Centre Foundation along with Polish Audiovisual Chamber of Commerce conduct the project go by a name Regional Audiovisual Initiative (RIA), which develop the idea of increasing finance source for Polish cinematography. One of the most important method to achieve this aim was to launch Regional Film Funds in Poland and the D-Cinema project, with its main objective to fully provide documentary evidence of one screening room cinemas in Poland and to prepare assumptions for cinemas’ digitalization.
