Studio Filmowe Kadr has produced over 120 feature films and 20 television series. The company takes pride in its long tradition of art house films and successful debuts. Kadr has collaborated with many great and famous film creators, e.g. Andrzej Wajda for the production of “Kanał” / “Canal” (Special Jury Award at the 10th IFF in Cannes) and “Popiół i diament” / “Ashes and Diamonds” (FIPRESCI Award at the 20th IFF in Venice); Jerzy Kawalerowicz on “Pociąg” / “The Train” (Premio Evrotecnica George Méliès at the 20t IFF in Venice), “Matka Joanna od Aniołów” / “Mother Joan of the Angels” (Special Jury Award at the 14th IFF in Cannes), and “Faraon” / “Pharaoh” (Oscar nomination in the best foreign language film category). Under Jerzy Kapuściński’s management, the company carries on the tradition of the former Zespoły Filmowe film studio (founded by Jerzy Kawalerowicz), where the initial phase of film creation, creative atmosphere and free discussion on film art, and not the commercial success, were of greatest importance. These basic, rules born in Zespoły Filmowe Film Studio still live on, especially in the younger generation of filmmakers. Studio Kadr produces films according to only the high artistic standards. An important aspect of Studio Kadr’s activity is producing debut feature films, the ‘discovery’ of young talented directors, and providing the best conditions for the realization of film projects. Recently, Studio Kadr has been working on two debut feature films, “Rewers” / “The Reverse” directed by Bartosz Lankosz, and “Sala samobójców” directed by Jan Komasa.
