Studio Filmowe Anima-Pol was established in 1989 in Łódź (first as a Polish-French joint venture, and since 1991 as a private film studio). Animators and colourists employed by the studio have been trained by specialists from Cartoon Studio in Paris and Studio Se-Ma-For in Łódź. Since its foundation the company has been producing animated, feature, and documentary films. Many of its TV series and educational programmes (in total over 100 episodes) were commissioned by the Polish TV (TVP).

Anima-Pol’s productions were awarded at Polish and international film events e.g. OFAFA (Kraków), Era New Horizons (Wrocław), IFF for Children and Young People – Divercine (Montevideo), IFF Prix Danube (Bratislava), IFF The Hugo Awards (Chicago) and IFF Pumelo (Mumbai). Currently, the following productions are in progress at Anima-Pol: Grzegorz Pacek’s documentary film "Wykuci w boju", Joanna Wierzbicka’s animation "Bajka", Małgorzata Imielska’s documentary "Sztuka w Auschwitz", Paweł Wendorff’s feature film "Nie ten człowiek", and Ryszard Maciej Nyczka’s feature film "Belcanto".
