Opus Film was founded in 1991 and it produces films, television, and TV advertisements. Its main activity, however, consists of TV commercial production. The company has no financial connections to entities operating on the advertising market in Poland and abroad. Opus Film head office is located in Łódź at the former Wytwórnia Filmów Fabularnych i Dokumentalnych in Łódź (Documentary and Feature Films Studio). In 2002 the company bought part of the latter’s property with 800 m2 film studio. The facility comprises: dressing rooms, make-up rooms, props rooms, and kitchen; there is also a sanitary room and car park. In addition, Opus Film has also available two modern editing rooms a sound studio, a casting studio, and a scene shop. In the last five years on average the company has been producing two feature films a year. Since 2002 it has produced 13 feature films and two 30-minute feature films. 13 of these productions were made by Polish directors (including 10 debuts and 4 co-productions with Luxemburg, Germany, Austria, and, for the first time in Poland, with Israel) and two by foreign directors. Eurimages has provided funding for two of these projects. Opus Film production have been awarded at major international film festivals: “Edi” in Berlin and Tokyo, “Z odzysku” / “Retrieval” in Cannes, “Sztuczki” / “Tricks” in Venice, and “Mistrz” / “The Master” in Miami.

Three of the Opus Film productions were official Polish candidates for Oscar (“Edi”, “Sztuczki”, and “Z odzysku”). The company is the one of the biggest advertisement production comapnies in Poland and has been making over sixty commercials a year. Spots are realized both in Poland and abroad. Opus Film cooperates with major advertising agencies on the Polish market: Leo Burnett, TBWA, Just, Publicis, EURO RSCG, LOWE GGK, Hand Made, and Czteryczwarte. The production company provides comprehensive film shooting services from selecting film directors, to development, to shooting, to postproduction. Owing to its numerous and experienced staff, as well as professional equipment the company is able to conduct several projects simulatneusly. Opus Film also provides film production services for international producers.
