Federico Film was created in 1997 by Marta Plucińska and since then it has been active on the audiovisual market. The company does both Polish productions and international co-productions. Federico Film collaborates with experienced Polish and foreign directors – in feature film, documentary, commercials, music video, TV programmes and TV series.
The company has produced a substantial number of feature films, documentaries and music videos. Among its cinema productions are “Szabla od komendanta” (dir. Jan Jakub Kolski), „Kochaj i rób co chcesz” (dir. Robert Gliński), „Wojaczek” (dir. Lech Majewski), „Kinema” (dir. Stanisław Różewicz), and „Sukces” (dir. Marek Bukowski).
Films produced by Federico Film have won prizes at Polish and international film festivals, including “Przebacz” / “Facing Up”, winner of the first prize in the New Polish Cinema Competition at the Era New Horizons festival. For her debut performance in this picture, Marta Malikowska’s won the award for Best Actress at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia in 2006; the film also took prizes for direction and screenplay at Slamdance on the Road, Poland (Krakow 2007). In 2008, the picture received a Brown Rose Award at the International Film Festival Film Meeting in Bergamo. Also, Federico Film’s productions have won awards at the Locarno Film Festival, the Berlin Film Festival, and the Film Festival in Bordeaux. Federico Film’s contribution to raising the prestige of Polish cinema abroad has been greatly appreciated in Poland.
