Besta Film was founded in 1998 by Bernadeta and Stanisław Krzemiński. A year later the company realized the first in Poland ‘docu-soap’ documentary series ‘Szpital Dzieciątka Jezus’ and in 2000 ‘Centrum Nadziei’, and ‘Modelki’. Besta Film productions also include the film ‘Dwie Miłości’, directed by Mirosław Borek, and 112 episodes of the series ‘Pensjonat pod Różą’ (2004-2006) made for TV Polsat. Its best-known production, however, is the series Plebania, which has been broadcasted by the Polish TV TVP continuously since 2000. Over 1,300 episodes have been made so far. In 2007 ‘Plebania’ was voted 3rd in the TeleKamera plebiscite and received the ‘Tele-Tydzień’ readers’ choice award. Besta Film’s the greatest success has been Felix 1996 Award of the European Film Academy ARTE for contribution to the European documentary film.

For over eleven years the company has been collaborating with renowned and experienced filmmakers, including documentary filmmakers (e.g. Grzegorz Sieldecki, Atena Sawitis, Andrzej Szulkowski, Kacper Lisowski) and authors of feature films (e.g. Marek Krutz, Jarosław Sokół, Grzegorz Kędzierski). Close cooperation with the Besta film studio guarantees constant access to modern production equipment and postproduction systems that ensure the quality of what is produced. In addition, Besta Film and Besta Studio provide various postproduction services; clients can take advantage of three Avid Media Composer Adrenaline HD non-linear editing systems, three Avid Media Composer Meridien non-linear editing systems, one Avid Symphony Nitris nonlinear editing system, and three Pro Tools systems for sound postproduction with separate reader’s cabins provided by the company. Besta Film group also runs a film equipment rental service. In the productions of ‘Plebania’, the group collaborates on a regular basis with various Besta Film companies and with the STI Film Studio.
