Akson Studio production activity covers all cinema and television feature film genres, documentary films, entertainment shows, TV programmes/series, educational programmes, and TV theatre plays. It is one of the five leading production companies in Poland. Broadcasting of numerous TV hits in prime time on three most popular Polish TV stations is one of company’s major achievements. Most of these productions have received nomination and TV awards in many categories e.g. comedy TV series, action TV series or TV theatre play. Akson Studio cooperates with Andrzej Wajda. One of the co-produced films – "Katyń" (2.7 mln viewers) – was nominated for Oscar® by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the Best Foreign Film category. Also "Tatarak", Andrzej Wajda’s next picture, has been equally internationally acclaimed; the premiere took place at Berlinale 2009, where the director received prestigious Alfred Bauer Prize. The company provides support to young filmmakers; in 2005 this activity resulted in the production of the ‘Oda do radości’ film debut. The project was awarded Grand Prix in the First Screenplay Competition and has been very popular with the viewers.
