Wytwórnia Filmowa ‘Czołówka’ was established in 1958 and is one of the oldest production companies in Poland. In its long history the studio has produced feature films, documentaries, educational and promotional films, and reportages. The company has made many documentaries on various historical events, individuals that had played a vital role in the Polish history, as well as culture, art and social problems. In 2005 Czołówka merged with the Karol Irzykowski Film Studio. The latter was home to many outstanding film directors making their debuts. The company took over Studio’s work and now continues its activity including provision of support to film school graduates working on their first productions. Films produced in Czołówka have been awarded at many national and international film festivals, i.e. in Gdynia, Koszalin, Krakow, Rome, Milan, Versailles, Venice and Leipzig.

  Festiwal 2001);
• „Idź do Luizy”, dir. Grzegorz Pacek (Main Award Brama Wolności at the 4th International Festival Godność i Praca in Gdańsk 2006, Grand Prix at the 7th International Days of Documentary Rozstaje Europy in Lublin 2006);
• “Środa, czwartek rano”, dir. Grzegorz Pacek (Mayor of Gdynia Award for acting debut for Joanna Kulig at the 32nd Polish Film Festival in Gdynia 2007 and Wielki Jantar Award at the Festival ‘Młodzi i Film’ in Koszalin for Joanna Kulig and Paweł Tomaszewski for their acting debut).

Many renowned filmmakers such as Krzysztof Kieślowski, Krzysztof Zanussi, Wojciech Marczewski, Grzegorz Królikiewicz, Sławomir Idziak, Witold Sobociński, Antoni Krauze, Andrzej Trzos-Rastawiecki, and Andrzej Brzozowski have collaborated with Czołówka. The Company also collects archival film materials and is in possession of a rich collection of documentaries on history and military. Czołówka provides production services and collaborates with national and international co-productions. The company offers modern editing sets, shooting stages and experienced staff.
